Can I use NFC to transfer pictures?

If your device has NFC, the chip and Android Beam need to be activated so that you can use NFC:

Go to Settings > More.

Tap on the NFC switch to activate it. The Android Beam function will also automatically turn on.

If Android Beam does not automatically turn on, just tap it and select Yes to turn it on.

With NFC, instead of performing manual configurations to identify devices, the connection between two NFC devices is automatically established in less than .1 second. The maximum data transfer rate of NFC (424 kbit/s) is slower than that of Bluetooth V2.1 (2.1 Mbit/s).

To begin sharing:

Make sure you both have your NFC turned on (as above)

Go to the item you want to share, such as a photo, video, web page etc.

Hold the two devices back to back.

On the screen, you’ll see ‘Touch to Beam’.

Once finished, your friend’s device will display the beamed data.

To Send Other Files Through NFC

Turn on NFC for both devices.

Go to My Folders and open it.

Search for the file you want to send, and open it.

Bring both devices back to back (touching devices is advised) and wait for NFC to connect.

Once NFC is connected, the originating phone will have the “Touch to Beam” option.
